FAQ
Why would I block brake cooling?
Brakes have a working temperature range, and on a cold or wet day a duct sized for a hot dry session keeps them below it. Blocking the duct lets them come up to temperature instead of bleeding heat away.
Can I bed new pads with the blockers on?
Do not bed new pads on track at all, blockers or not. I tried it, first time out on a fresh set, and it glazed the pads. Bed them properly on the street first, and only then think about managing temperature with blockers.
Is this safe for a hot day?
Use your judgement and your own brake temperature data. These are for conditions where you have decided the brakes are running too cool. Do not fit them and forget them on a hot dry track day.
Does this help aerodynamically?
Closing an open duct in the front fascia reduces the air being dumped through the front of the car, which is generally good for drag. I have not measured it on this car, so I am not going to quote you a number.
